DEEP SEA MINING

The seafloor is not a resource for battery manufacturers to exploit, it is a fragile and beautiful ecosystem that is vitally important for biogeochemical cycling and for sequestering carbon and fighting climate change. This illustration was in response to an article outlining the potentially devasting effects that deep sea metal extraction could have on the benthic ecosystem.
